Volunteering is a great way to give something back to your community, as well as gain new skills and meet new people. We offer volunteer positions within the Heart of Sidley. We also work with other organisations offering volunteering opportunities.
Our volunteers make a huge difference in the lives of others as well as their own. Many have even gone onto full-time employment as a result of their placement.
We have some great ways to get involved, from basic administrative tasks, like doing calling residents to see how they are doing, data entry and preparing for events and activities,
A great deal of preparation is needed for our events and in the run up to events there are many jobs to be done, including making promotional material, posters and signs, even wrapping Christmas gifts for Father Christmas!
On the day we set up and organise resources and everyone has a contribution to make, even if it means checking the health and safety of the site, or if everyone has refreshments ready for the event to open!
There is a lot of fun too, knowing that you have given something back to your community and learnt some great transferable skills.
