We work closely with the school to deliver projects for local families. We have donated activity packs, Christmas gifts and much more, including funding for ‘Cooper’s Corner’, an enclosed multi use all weather outdoor classroom and play area. We also have our Heart of Sidley AGM in the school hall.

Bexhill Caring Community - Dial a ride service
The Heart of Sidley funds FREE Dial-A-Ride service for those who live in the Heart of Sidley. Dial a ride is a door to door transport service using an adapted vehicle which provides easy access for passengers including wheelchair users.
Anyone living in the Bexhill area, regardless of age, with any type of disability that makes it difficult or impossible to use public transport can use this service.
Residents in the Heart of Sidley can access this for FREE, so they can go to medical appointments or simply stay in touch with friends and family.
Call 01424 215116 at least 48 hours before you require the service. Bookings are taken between 8:30am and 3:00pm on Monday to Friday. Outside office hours an answerphone is in operation. Dial-A-Ride will operate on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between the hours of 9am and 4pm.
Bexhill Caring Community also offer a multitude of services for the elderly, housebound and lonely of all ages, including volunteers for shopping, visiting, sitting and a home library service, plus equipment hire and form filling.
Bexhill Lions
We work closely with Bexhill Lions throughout the year. They generously donate gifts towards the summer fun day and winter event, as well as help towards marshalling at events and running stalls.
CAP- Christains Against Poverty
Vouchers - Each year Heart of Sidley supports CAP with food vouchers to spend at local shops, for the wonderful hampers they make up for their clients at Christmas.
Debt coach - Through our 2020 community grant scheme we have funded an additional Debt Coach for CAP.
CAP run a course on managing money in support of their CAP Debt Centre. This will mean that anyone who struggles to keep on top of their personal finances will be able to learn how to balance their budget, stop relying on credit and begin saving for the unexpected. DISC- Dementia information and support courses
Do you support someone living with dementia, if you do and would like to meet others in the same situation for support, information and a smile then join in their online sessions (or when it’s allowed again, you can go along to The Orangery 4th Tuesday of the month, 10.30am -12.30pm).

Freedom Church
Claremont Road, Sidley, Rev Sally Sago. Formally named Sidley Baptist Church.
Several Heart of Sidley sessions take place at Freedom Church including Boom Active sessions in the autumn and winter.
They run a Hi- 5 after school club once a week for children and young people.

Hastings Rother Credit Union (HRCU)
We have funded HRCU to deliver a debt support project in Heart of Sidley area to enable residents to gain access to advice and apply for small loans of up to £300. If you find that you are struggling with debt or would like to open an account, please get in contact (01424) 202651.
Credit Unions serve the local community. They are financial co-operatives owned and controlled by their members. All HRCU members live and/or work in Hastings Borough or Rother District or provide services to those who do.

The Pelham
Coffee lounge, community hub.
The Heart of Sidley and The Pelham worked closely together January to April 2021 on the Heat&Eat Bexhill project. £65,000 was funded by East Sussex County Council as part of the Covid winter Grant Scheme, aimed to give those that have been affected financially by Covid19, in Sidley and Bexhill Central, financial support towards food and fuel bills.

The New Inn Pub
The pub is in the Heart of Sidley. Sarah and her team regularly support us and they’ve hosted many popular activities for the Heart of Sidley, including in the past the older persons lunch, before it moved to All Saints church hall. The pub has also been the venue for a newly formed community choir, which was funded by the Heart of Sidley.
Christmas is always a special occasion in Sidley and our Heart of Sidley Christmas Tree is proudly displayed on the green outside the pub with festive lights. (Sidley Street)
