Throughout the year the Heart of Sidley put on a variety of fun activities and events, including the summer fun day, Christmas Extravaganza and much more. We are very fortunate to have strong links with our community and always grateful for help and support from volunteers, but we always welcome extra help- is this you?

Our volunteers are always willing to get stuck in and help us with lots of different tasks and join in the fun .

Our popular summer fun day is a great opportunity for local families to get together and enjoy FREE activities at Sidley Recreation ground. At the last summer event over a thousand people of all ages attended. We are pleased to be supported by many local organisations and look forward to it.

We have for example games, inflatable assault course, face painter, football, ice creams, cream teas and performances from local groups throughout the day, plus many others.

During the summer holidays we also put on a coach trip to a local family attraction, most recently Knochhatch in Hailsham. We subsidise the trip for families so they get an entry pass to the attraction and return travel via coach back to the Heart of Sidley.

Things get really festive with our Christmas Extravaganza at All Saints Church and Christmas Light switch outside The New Inn Pub. Many organisations came along to support the event from Sussex Police and The Bexhill Lions marshalling residents back to the church and then joining in with the Christmas activities.

The FREE event is open to all in the community, however the majority of people are from the local area keen to join in and see Father Christmas.

Each stall is FREE and families can take part in a variety of festive activities, from making Christmas cards, decorations, get their face painted or simply wait to see Father Christmas. At the last Christmas event we received help from the De La Warr Pavillion, The Pelham, Brownies, Scouts, Bexhill Lions, Doms Food Mission, Optivo Resident Involvement, Carly’s face painting and many others.

The Christmas lights in Sidley high street are paid for and arranged by the Heart of Sidley with sponsorship from local businesses and contributors.

Are you a local group or organisation that would like to get involved in our events? Email Tanya here to discuss some ideas of how we can work together.
