The Heart of Sidley has awarded £5,000 to the Bexhill Family Collectives Community Nurseries, to support the reopening of a children’s nursery at the former Rainbows site in Turkey Road. The nursery will be relaunched as Dragonflies.
The Bexhill Family Collective, a non for profit community interest company, was set up by local parents Ollie Jeffs, Heather Winchester, Nikki Collins, Ena Osula, and Emily Bowler after East Sussex County Council announced plans to close Rainbows in Sidley and Cygnets in Egerton Park.
The group was able to secure the lease for the site in December 2020 and passed its Ofsted registration. It is now fully staffed and up and running, it welcomes up to 59 families. Its mission is to provide all-year-round care for babies and children up to the age of five.
