Whilst we'd love it if no one needed emergency food, this isn't the case right now, so in response to clients' needs, we are opening a weekly foodbank session at the newly built Sidley Hub, Canada Way, from 23rd October.Every Friday, 10am - 11.30am.A referral voucher is required for all foodbank sessions, but if you are new to the foodbank and are in need of help as you are having to make the impossible decision between buying food and paying an essential bill, get in touch with us - info@Bexhill.foodbank.org.uk / 01424 322541 and we'll connect you with the right help.God bless, we'll see you soon..... ... We are so thrilled and grateful to have been chosen as the Mayor's Charity. A huge thank you to Memish Huseyin - Independent Councillor Old Town & Worsham Bexhill-on-Sea Town Council for all of their invaluable support ❤📬 Message from The Mayor:- "Following a unanimous vote from my fellow councillors, I was incredibly proud to choose Heart Of Sidley as my chosen charity for my year as Mayor of Bexhill.Last Wednesday, I had the opportunity to visit the team, spend some proper time with them, and see first-hand just how much passion, pride, time and effort goes into everything they do.And I have to say, what they do is absolutely incredible.Heart of Sidley works alongside local residents, businesses and organisations to support and deliver projects, activities and events that bring people together, provide opportunities for all ages and help build an even stronger community. At the heart of it all is a simple aim: improving Sidley, creating opportunities and making it somewhere people are proud to call home. One of the greatest privileges of being Mayor is getting to visit so many of our charities, voluntary groups and community organisations. Every single one has its own special place in Bexhill, and every day there are people quietly giving their time to help others, change lives and make a real difference.Of course, today wasn’t all sensible conversation...Tanya and the team have already started discussing a few rather wild fundraising ideas for my mayoral year.I made the slight mistake of telling them that I’m not built for marathons, I don’t like heights and snakes are definitely off the table...Apparently that still leaves them with plenty of options.I’m beginning to think I should have kept quiet. So watch this space, because I have a feeling they have plans for the Mayor and I may regret saying that I’m pretty much up for anything else!On a serious note, a huge thank you to Tanya and the entire Heart of Sidley team for welcoming me today and, more importantly, for everything you do for our community. And that thanks extends to all the charities, organisations, volunteers and community groups across our town. We are incredibly fortunate to have so many people willing to give their time and energy to others. You are all part of what makes Bexhill the very special place we are proud to call home." ...
